[APBeta] UCAC3 access

I suspect either you have some weirdness in where things are stored on your hard disk, or there's a shortcut the the UCAC3 folder somewhere. Let me check my code and get it to ignore investigating shortcuts (Mac users know them as aliases) when doing the read-only check.
