Hi Paul,
Update:
I did a check on the location refs on both the scope and those set in AP. AP allows you to be more accurate than the hand controller and found a slight difference so I reset them to be identical but it made no difference in connecting. I also checked the time and they are as close as I can physically get them.
I selected data flow and took a screen grab of the telescope communication window. See Attached

The first window shows it after a failed connection attempt.
The second screen shot after a successful attempt. (Note it took about 8-10 retries before it connected).
I did a couple of successful slews start and end shown
I saw a couple of time outs not linked as far as I know to any action on my part one recorded.
Finally I did a slew and an abort slew.
The telescope location X on the screen stopped at the Abort slew point, the telescope slowed down but carried on.
I had to refresh the screen after the slew to get the telescope position X to reflect the correct position.
Once it is connected it is seems to be OK.
