Hello, Paul.

No, not the "You downloaded..." message. I knew that was normal internet stuff. When I first ran b.105 the setup wizard appeared. All my resources were gone, and AP started as if this was the first time I installed the program. This has happened to me several times before. In fact, your advice was to copy the resource file to my desktop in case it happened again. I did so, installed it into the applications support AP file, and all is OK.

I did not lose (I typically never lose) any other file, at least that I know of. All catalogs, plans, and preferences are left alone. It's just the resource file that disappears. And it doesn't happen all the time, either. For example, when I downloaded b.106 the program installed as expected.

The anomaly happens randomly. I tried to record what I did just before installing an errant update, but to no avail.

All is well now... until the next time it happens. If it is my end that is the problem, I cannot imagine what it could be.

You must really love Astronomy, or perhaps dealing with hacks like us. In any case, thanks for your replies and all your time.

Take care,

Tony

I get the "You are running this application for the first time..." alert here too, even for stuff I compile and run here. I think Apple have stepped up the frequency that this appears, possibly in a recent OS update. It's nothing to worry about (IMHO).
