[APBeta] AstroPlanner V2.0b100 released

Sorry: I assumed that my connection was as slow as anyone's, since it's the cheapest (i.e., slowest) connection I could buy, plus, being in New York City, I thought I was subject to as many slowdowns, outages, outrages, etc. as anyone else. (You know: they're the phone company, so they don't have to care. ;-)

So I'm still assuming that for the vast majority of us, what I said was true.

If I'm still mistaken about that, then my sincere apologies. I really thought the message I was replying too was a little bit off the deep end. Maybe I should have just minded my own business. :-/

Unless you're in the depths of rural Germany  My village (Rehlingen, near Nittel, Rheinland-Pfalz) won't get ADSL for years, if ever.  I'm the lucky one in the village, having an ISDN line.  DT will not install another one - ever.  A 2OMb download takes around 10 minutes.  The best the rest of the village can do is a very flaky wireless connection to Luxembourg.  I used to live in a bigger village in Czech Republic.  There the local telephone exchange was analogue and still used pulse-dialling!  Even ISDN was impossible there.  I got by with a wireless link direct to Prague, 17Km away.  The advertised max range was 10Km.  The connection went down if it snowed (all winter near enough) or rained or a bird sat on the antenna!

Having said all that, a 20 hour download for AP v2b608 would be acceptable! :-D

Oh, come now. Downloading each beta takes just a few seconds more than a minute; installing it similarly takes about thirty seconds; and the time limit is, what, a month? I really don't think this is a hassle at all, let alone worth complaining about.

Dear Paul,

I respect your interest in making v2 a thing of beauty and functional
integrity. It is a credit to you already.

Please ship, so I don't have to keep downloading these time-limited
betas. As far as I'm concerned, it's ready.

As always, it's your decision.

Respectful regards,
Tony Barry
