Well I tried both toggling the "Save changes whenever plan 
documents are saved" option and also clean install (followed 
by toggling that option again).

Saving a plan still takes around 9 secs.

I noticed the same behavior if I start AP without opening a 
plan (getting a "default" empty plan) and then quit AP.  It 
takes about 9 secs and goes unresponsive.

Again, this is NOT a big deal.  If Paul (or anyone else) has 
ideas, I'm happy to try them.  But not worth a lot of Paul's 
time IMHO.
