Hello Paul,

If you can release v2 for Mac now ... would you consider doing so?  I  
am using v1 and would really appreciate the new features.

As to Mac vs Win ... I use Mac all the time.  But I have had to write  
two pieces of software myself to use my GStar with Mac ... one was a  
frame-by-frame exporter (from iMovie's .mov files to individual  
greyscale TIFFs) and the other was an alternative to iMovie which  
provides greyscale TIFFs or colour PNGs directly.

If a person did not have access to software generating tools , and the  
inclination to learn their use, then I would say without hesitation  
that in a niche area like astro work, the PC has an edge that is not  
easily beaten.

At present, there's only one guiding package that will work with a  
GStar camera on Mac - and it's not PhD.  Darryl Robertson's Equinox  
will work with QT inputs from a Firewire Canopus ADVC frame grabber.   
Whereas on the PC, PhD will work with generic webcam input.
