[APBeta] 2.0b25 problems

I would seem that various changes I made in 2.0b25 has screwed up the  
ability to define and modify user-defined field definitions. I have  
corrected the problem (and some other associated problems) and will  
probably release V2.0b26 sooner rather than later. Meantime, don't  
even think about modifying your user-defined field definitions  
(although it's fine to modify and use existing fields).
