My AP started with only one detectable issue:

 

*starting and closing must be done while the red image indicator is being viewed,

*(What if the blue image indicator is on?  Well, it seems that the task manager

    needs to be used to shut down AP, or in another way, the red X close button

    can be used with a long wait to close.)

 

The "Recalculating" banner went away more or less immediately if the Observations

tab was clicked followed by a returning to the Objects tab.

 

My computer:

 

*CPU type - Authenic AMD, AMD Athlon(tm) XP [x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2]

*Microsoft Windows XP - Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00)

*RAM - 0.5 Gb

*Scope connection - LX200 Classic connected fine when tested

*ST Catalogues - Hubble Guide Star

                      - SAO Star

                      - Meade 351 ST

*Objects list - UGC Catalogue (12,939 objects, 531 observed).
