  Paul,
  I installed V17b this morning - alignment stars now working - thanks.
  The DSC screen re-appeared then went away - must be something to do
 with it sorting out ASCOM.  The initial behaviour on whether it opens
 POTH when you connect to the mount is a bit random but seems to sort
 itself out after opening and closing the app/connecting/disconnecting the
 mount.
   
  I also found the following:
  The find best pair button only seems to work when the LX200 option is
 selected - neither of the polar 2 or 3 star options seem to work with
 this button.
   
  The multiple object sort criteria doesn't seem to work - I think it
 is only sorting on the first criteria.  I am trying to sort by visible
 then size then mag.
   
  When you file open a plan it keeps the existing plan window open - is
 this intentional?  Also the astroplanner splash screen seems to remain
 open when you close the application.
   
  When I connect to the scope the correct RA/DEC coordinates are
 displayed but the telescope position only appears on the Sky map after I
 initiate a slew.
