You shouldn't be using both. If you only have Volume 1 then use the "Vol 1 preferred" option. If you only have Volume 2 then use the "Vol 2 preferred" option. If you have both, choose the Volume that best represents your hemisphere (V1 = N, V2 = S)

The reason there's two entries is because there's a big overlap twixt the two volumes, and if you only have, say, Volume 1, then it will make sure it only chooses those charts available in Volume 1 where possible, Volume 2 otherwise.
