The visibility indicator is clear because it is centered on midnight, but having two moon indicators that show different results is not so clear. Though it may not make total sense, I would prefer that the Moon info box indicate moon rise or set for the current viewing period, i.e. between astronomical twilight dusk and astronomical twilight dawn. At the very least there should be some indication of why the two indicators will not always agree.<div><br></div><div>I hasten to add that this is not a huge deal to me, particularly now that I know how it works.</div><div><br></div><div>Bruce</div><div><br><div><div>On May 3, 2010, at 2:58 PM, Paul Rodman wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><br><div><div>On May 3, 2010, at 7:58 AM, Bruce Pipes wrote:</div><blockquote type="cite"><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><pre><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; ">I am checking this out right now - 10:50 am EST on 5/3/10. The rise/set times in the Moon info box, or the rise/set times for the Moon as an object are for the current local day. The short-term visibility indicator shows (typically) today through tomorrow. Since the moon (currently) rises in the early morning, it will rise at tomorrow's rise time.</div><div><br></div><div>Paul R.<br></div><br></div>_______________________________________________<br>APBeta mailing list<br><a href="mailto:APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net">APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net</a><br><a href="http://lists.astroplanner.net/listinfo.cgi/apbeta-astroplanner.net">http://lists.astroplanner.net/listinfo.cgi/apbeta-astroplanner.net</a><br></blockquote></div><br></div></div>_______________________________________________<br>APBeta mailing list<br><a href="mailto:APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net">APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net</a><br><a href="http://lists.astroplanner.net/listinfo.cgi/apbeta-astroplanner.net">http://lists.astroplanner.net/listinfo.cgi/apbeta-astroplanner.net</a><br></blockquote></div><br></div></div>_______________________________________________<br>APBeta mailing list<br><a href="mailto:APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net">APBeta@lists.astroplanner.net</a><br>http://lists.astroplanner.net/listinfo.cgi/apbeta-astroplanner.net<br></blockquote></div><br></div></body></html>
