Progress report:

For those who are convinced that I'm asleep behind the wheel...

I'm writing the user manual (a couple of hundred pages in, with about 150 to go), and fixing bugs/making improvements as I go. I don't typically document these improvements/bug fixes unless I think you should know about them, so don't be surprised if something has magically changed (hopefully for the better) when you use each new release.

I am shocked and horrified (and impressed) by the complexity of this app. I have learned a lot of lessons about the disease of rampant featuritis, the main one being that once a new feature is "out in the wild" it's generally difficult to remove it later without annoying at least a small portion of paid users. Also: you have to document the feature, which is not my favourite thing to do (rates up there with corporate tax returns, colonoscopies, spring-cleaning the garage, etc.).

On the other hand, the code is a lot more sophisticated that the V1.x code, and is generally much easier to modify and extend (for the most part). I have been forced to refactor a _lot_ of the code, and it will make V3 a _lot_ easier to develop.

OK, lunch time...

Paul R.
