I should also mention: As you are a visual observer rather than an astro-imager (?), there's really no need for Windows. In fact there are several folks I know who are doing high-level astro-imaging without having to resort to Windows. Of course, you can run Windows OS on a Mac anyway, so for those few remaining Windows-only apps, you'll be set.

I'm aware that there are just as many Windows fanboys (you listening RPEHLM?) as there are Mac fanboys, but the loudest fanboys of all are those that switched from Win to Mac...
