That reminds me of something I've been meaning to mention to you.

On my setup, trying to open the telescope control palette hangs AP,
right?  We know about that bug already.

What's interesting, though, is that the high-precision slewing
palette works okay!  It hangs the main AP window for 5-10 seconds
or so when it starts a slew (presumably it's busy computing stars
in the path) and then it comes up.  The slew buttons actually work
and slew the scope around as well.

I'm not sure if that helps matters any, but I thought you might
find it interesting.
