As I understood Nexremote was still needed in V1 to align it from the PC.

There's no alignment stuff in AP. AP assumes you have aligned the scope before you start.
That being said, if you have a accurately polar-mounted scope, you might be able to get a "one-star" alignment by centering on a star and syncing.
