If you are reading this before you finished your pizza, beer and
"Australia", STOP AND READ IT LATER!
The new Guide Star script sort of works. The problem is that it gets
the imager reticle from the resources, but not the guider reticle,
which is what you really want. I think the way to fix this is to have
the script include the guider reticle if the "Guide Sensor Name" box
is checked in the imager resource. Since you would never be looking
for guide stars for the imager chip, there is no reason to include the
imager chip in the "Reticle" drop-down menu. For example, in my case
the imager is an SBIG ST-2000XM with the TC-237 guide chip, so the
drop-down menu need only contain one entry, SBIG ST-2000XM/XCM/TC237,
or something like that. That is, it gets the camera model from the
image name and the guide chip from the "Guide Sensor Name" check box.
It then would only look for guide stars in the annulus defined by
rotating the guider reticle. Can the script be modified to do this?
Thanks,
Bruce
