Sorry Paul,
   
  I misunderstood - I thought selecting Celestron Ultima 2000 or Orion Synscan goto as the telescope mount resource was not using Ascom.
   
  The alignment stars failed to appear with these mounts selected also.

No, this isn't going to work, since you are using "ASCOM" as the mount
  
type, and that does not have any alignment stars associated with it.  
For it to work I will have to add a popup menu to the ASCOM mount  
definition with the name of the actual mount being controlled. I might
  
look at that today. Or I might not... :^)
