[APBeta] AP V2 questions

Paul,

During my testing yesterday I came across a few things as well as some options I thought you might consider for implementation down the track...

AP V2 opens with a blank plan rather than opening the the last plan like V1.6 does.

I got an exception error trying to sort objects - report sent already.

I also had some trouble slewing to a planet by right clicking on the sky map as it was reporting "coordinates are below the horizon. Slewing cannot proceed" even though it was showing above the horizon. If I added the planet to the objects screen it would happily slew from the object screen.

Occasionally the ascom control panel was not opened when AP connects to the scope via ascom (POTH or the ascom driver). Would it be possible to add a button to open the control panel as this would avoid having to go back through the start menu to open it.

I managed to get the DSC panel to disappear so AP now works with POTH without displaying the DSC panel. I could not find any setting in POTH or in the scope driver that would suggest it reports that a DSC is connected. I selected the Celestron Ultima 2000 telescope driver in the resource list then went back to POTH and it worked. Might have been related to selecting POTH as the telescope resource without having a scope defined as connected in POTH when I first set it up but haven't tried to reproduce yet.

Would it be possible to add a button "Show Site Lat/Long" as this would be very handy for Synscan users when changing sites since AP keeps a database of site locations whereas Synscan only remembers the last location. This would avoid having to open up the resources menu since in theory you could use the site selection drop down box on the main screen. With the lat/long visible, AP would then provide all information required to initialize the hand controller (date, time, location).

  Regards,

  Peter
