  If the appearance of alignment stars is associated with having a computorised mount selected in resources then I suspect my problem is associated with using the POTH ascom driver - perhaps AP doesn't class this as a computorised mount attached?  I'll try selecting a different mount and see if it fixes the problem.  If that is the case is it possible to change the setup in AP with respect to POTH so it does show alignment stars?  I assume this information is not retrieved from the hand controller by AP but a list in a file?
   
  Keep up the good work - as others have said, I'm getting close to using this version too and looking forward to the ability to nudge the scope from the computer using the ascom scope control interface.
