Robin,
My netbook is the ASUS Eee PC 900. I'm not sure it's still on the
market, but its very close relative, the 901, is currently available at
a great price - $267 ($367 - $100 rebate) at Amazon:

This blog post has links to Amazon for both Linux (20 GGB SSD) and
Windows (12 GB SSD) versions. Both versions have a 1.6 Ghz Atom, 1 GB
RAM, 9-inch 1024x600 display. (Personally, I'd get the Linux version
even if I were to run Windows on it, due to the extra built-in
storage.) The 901 differs from my machine (the 900) in that the 900
uses a Celeron CPU, the 901 has an Atom CPU. So the 901 has better
battery life.
I've upgraded my 900 to 2GB RAM, and I run both Ubuntu Linux and Windows
XP on it. It's a good secondary machine for running AstroPlanner.
There is also a Dell Mini 9 netbook on closeout for $199. But it is an
underpowered machine (512 MB RAM, only 4 GB storage):

Hope this helps,
