Well, for the SynScan, all of the stuff on the control panel is inapplicable (according to the Synscan manual). Although it has a subset of the Nexstar GPS protocol, it's pretty limited (i.e. pretty much getting RA/Dec and slewing to RA/Dec). There's no movement commands, etc.

I have created a separate SynScan driver (for 2.0b69), which hopefully will work a bit better than the more generic NexStar driver that's currently used.
