Folks,

I have been forced to use a previous version of the compiler for the  
Windows build of APV2, since recent versions cause crashes (illegal  
instruction). It would seem very likely that this occurs only on PCs  
that have processors that do not have SSE3 extensions (older P4s and  
before). This is a compiler bug and should be fixed soon by the vendor  
(yeh, right). Meantime, I dug my old Dell PIII laptop from the garage  
and it shows the same crashing problem, so I have hopes for a  
workaround now that I can reproduce the problem.
