I forgot to mention workarounds:

a. Install using the V1 installer and then move/copy the catalogue to  
the V2 catalogue folder*.
b. Install using the V1 installer and point V2 at it using the  
auxilliary paths defined in File-> Catalogue Manager...-> Preferences.
c. Manually decompress the GZipped files in the Catalogues folder from  
the CD/DVD-ROM and put them in the V2 catalogues folder*.
